Under its annual efforts of commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Centre for Business and Society-LUMS organized an awareness session for the female janitorial staff of LUMS. Hosted in partnership with Pink Ribbon Pakistan, LUMS Community Service Society and LUMS Campus Health, the session took place on October 10, 2025, in SDSB-LUMS.

The interactive session was led by breast cancer surgeons who addressed myths, screening guidelines, risk factors, and the importance of timely clinical consultation. Participants learned step-by-step techniques for self-examination, understood when to seek medical advice, and discussed common barriers to screening in the workplace and at home.

Informative flyers and merchandise were also distributed among the 30+ female janitorial staff who attended the session to reinforce the crucial message of breast cancer and its detection.

Furthermore, understanding the barriers in access to healthcare, CBS also organized a free on-site breast health checkup clinic specifically for the female janitorial staff at the LUMS Medical Centre, with qualified clinicians from Mayo Hospital.

This initiative reflects CBS’s commitment to fostering a healthier, safer campus community by integrating access to health literacy and well-being into the centre’s broader social impact agenda.

The Pink Canvas Art Workshop scheduled as a part of the event was postponed due to uncertain security concerns in Lahore. New date will be announced soon!
