Business Speaker Sessions for the MBA, LUMS Batch of 2025

CBS organized two insightful speaker sessions in February 2024 for the MBA batch at SDSB-LUMS, providing students with valuable exposure to real-world business challenges, strategies, and entrepreneurial experiences. These sessions featured distinguished industry professionals who shared their career journeys, key business insights, and lessons on excelling in the corporate and entrepreneurial landscape.

The first session was conducted by the Business Development Manager at Sapphire, who provided an in-depth discussion on Vertical Integration and its role in business expansion. He explained how companies can streamline operations by controlling multiple stages of production, thereby enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and maintaining quality control. He also highlighted various business development strategies, emphasizing the importance of product diversification to cater to evolving market demands. Additionally, the session stressed the growing need for businesses to adopt sustainable business practices, focusing on environmental responsibility and long-term profitability.

The second session was led by the CEO of Diet by Design, who shared her inspiring transition from a career in civil services to launching and successfully managing her own entrepreneurial venture. She candidly discussed the challenges of shifting industries, the mindset required for entrepreneurship, and the strategic steps necessary to build a strong business foundation. A key focus of her talk was on risk management in startups, where she provided actionable insights on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with launching and scaling a business.

Both sessions concluded with engaging Q&A segments, where students had the opportunity to interact directly with the speakers, seek guidance on industry-specific challenges, and gain practical knowledge applicable to their future careers. The sessions were highly informative and provided students with a strong understanding of business innovation, market adaptation, and entrepreneurial resilience in today's dynamic business environment.
