MoU signing between CBS & Kaarvan Crafts Foundation

With the vision of renewing its long-standing partnership rooted in the development of women microentrepreneurs and their businesses, CBS signed an MoU with Kaarvan Crafts Foundation, on March 5, 2024.

Under this visionary collaboration, CBS in partnership with Kaarvan Crafts Foundation, have successfully completed three workshop programmes across 2022, 2023 & 2024, aimed at business skills development of female microentrepreneurs across Pakistan. The inception of this programme began in 2022 with the mission of advancing entrepreneurship in particular emphasis on women-owned microbusinesses across various districts. Thus far, across the three cycles, over 90 women hailing from the product and service industry of Pakistan have been the beneficiaries of this workshop. The programme also features students onboarded from the graduate programmes of SDSB-LUMS, in the capacity of “Volunteer Coaches.” Thus far 29 students have been a part of the workshop series.

The MoU ceremony included Dr. Ali Cheema (Vice Chancellor, LUMS), Dr. Fazal Jawad (Dean, SDSB), Danish Khan (Founder and CEO of Kaarvan Crafts Foundation), along with the CBS and Kaarvan Crafts Foundation teams. Dr. Cheema lauded the vision and objective of the programme, and its reciprocal learning framework stating that such projects align with the core values of the institution (LUMS) that actively makes efforts for the development of community on various grassroot levels.
