Policy Dialogue Session with Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Department, Punjab

CBS-LUMS partnered with Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Department (SW&BM), Punjab for a one-day Policy Dialogue Session, held on January 26, 2024. The event was held at Suleman Dawood School of Business-LUMS and was organised under the mandate of drafting a “Social Welfare Policy” for SW&BM. The programme featured a variety of stakeholders and attendees from the academic, government and judicial domains who participated in the multi-faceted event, that included a presentation session on the programmes and policies of the SW&BM Department, Punjab and concluded with a Group Activity Session. 

The Group Activity Session for Policy Draft included the audience split into groups with each individual from a different domain, to include a holistic approach in the drafting activity. Each group was allocated a distinct programme of the SW&BM Department who then had to present a pragmatic policy approach that may be implemented on the provincial level. 

The programme concluded with closing remarks by the Minister of Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal, Department Punjab who lauded the nature of the programme and emphasized on the need for such stakeholders to come together and engage in developing more efficient social frameworks for the development of the community across the province. Certificates were presented to the participants and shields to the partners of the programme, as it came to its productive end.
