The Centre for Business and Society (CBS) is a platform that brings efforts and conversations at the intersection of business and society onto a wider stage of influence. It is a medium for all, to form a network that works towards research communications, policy discussions, debates, student engagement and edutainment events to engender a positive impact on society.

CBS’ blueprint draws largely from the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ethics, collective awareness and social responsibility are the underlying themes for all the centre’s activities. The centre’s thematic areas include cross-cutting themes of education, gender, sustainability, diversity, inclusiveness, health, governance, public policy, micro/social entrepreneurship and capacity building and equal access for all.

Research and Publications

To kickstart the third cycle of “CBS Ambassadors for Change Programme” - 2022, CBS and The Citizens Foundation (TCF) organized an orientation session on January 30, 2022 which was attended by over a 100 TCF students and 39 Volunteer Ambassadors recruited by CBS.
Highlights at a Glance
To celebrate UN International Day of Education, CBS organized a multifaceted workshop for the students of LUMS. The workshop was led by Dr. Nasser Aziz, an alumni of Yale University and adjunct faculty at LUMS
On December 7, 2021 Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) organized a Christmas concert to celebrate the holiday spirit with the staff and the Christian community of the school. The event in collaboration with CBS was attended by a diverse audience which included faculty and staff members from SDSB and students from The Salvation Army.
Centre for Business and Society collaborated with LUMS Environmental Action Forum (LEAF) for the “PlasQuit” campaign which urged the awareness regarding reducing the usage of plastic.
CBS in collaboration with PhotoLUMS is currently holding its 2nd photography competition themed under SDG 13: Climate Change Action.
